Does the float still float, or is it full of gas?
And this system uses the bending of brass tabs to adjust, did they get tweeaked crooked? or pretsticulated?
Also, there is usually some type of 'float drop limiter' tab, be sure it isn't allowing the float to drop so far that the valve gets bound as it nearly falls out. Check that it travels smooothly- you can run the truck with the top off the carb*, sink the float by finger, see if it returns smoothly.
* I'm pretty good at putting out engine fires,how about you? Keep a fire extinguisher handy! (not a garden hose!) and don't try this trick at home or near your house!
