71 W200 questions

ive got a chance to pickup a 71 W200 for a pretty good price( i think)its got a 318,np445 4 spd, braden Lu-2 PTO winch,etc. is the np445 a desirable tranny,compared to the 435? also,is the lu-2 winch a good model,as ive noticed extensive use of aluminum vs. steel as in most other winches? is the lu-2 an 8000 lb. winch? oh yeah,it seems to have a strong engine,steering and brakes feel good,if i can get it for $1000 does that seem like a good price?
