I own 7 of the M-37 Canadian family. Same bellhousing, 251 with 96hp, different transmission from the US trucks (made by Canadian ACME in Toronto, no kidding !)and different PTO internal gears also. 251/265 has a longer distributor shaft than the 230 also. Cdn trucks do have both sets of motor mounts, one set for the 236/252/265 long block and a shorter set for the 218/230 short block flat head six. I'm going the 265 way (usually 105hp)with a lightly machined head to boost compression, dual carb. intake manifold, dual exhaust headers and a 144hp rating. Beats the hell out of 85 hp from the 230.
