Maurice, I had a fellow Power-Wagon collector and experienced blacksmith tell me, some years ago before I learned how to weld, that the best way to learn is by first learning to weld with Oxy-Acetalene. He said that once I learned to weld 1/2" plate with Oxy-Acetalene, learning the other methods would be easy. He was right. It worked for me. I used stick, MIG, and TIG in the machine shop, but still all I have at home is Oxy-Acetalene. Kind of like building a house with a hammer and hand saw rather than nail gun and power saw. ;^)
