Wont start....

I'm trying to get a IND 251 started and she wont. I have spark, I checked by pulling a plug and cranking the motor. It sparks. I have even gone as far as to hook up a hand fuel pump directly to the carb, and squirt some starting fluid directly into the cylinders. If my timing is set correctly, what am if forgetting? I crank it and not even a cough.
