I think the ridges you refer to are just the metal displaced back when the taper for the lug nut is formed on the front. You will notice that they do not come close to contacting the relief in the hub. On single rims the location is done by the interaction of the taper on the lug nut and the taper on the front of the rim. If you have 16 or 17.5 dual rims, I think there is a ridge on the front side, on alternating holes, that align the two rims to each other. Maybe sombody else is better on this. Yes, the M715 rims direct interchange. I've done it, others have too, works fine. Rob
