Dodge produced a 331 diesel for heavy duty trucks that was the same displacement and general size as the 331 gasoline L-head, but the internals were entirely different. That motor was produced starting in '39. It's probably too heavy and few were ever built so they're very rare today.
A 230 or 251 diesel would probably be too small.
