For those of you that don't remember me, Dode is a '51 B2 Power Wagon. Of course, Her name "Dode" was derived from the missing G on the radiator cown emblem. Hence...DOD E.
Pretty much my last posting about Dode was when I put her in the drink. I've since done very little work (winter), but I made sure she always ran. A few weeks back, I took her to a neighbor's house the morning after about 4" of snow, and I was pretty bummed that she couldn't get back up the driveway. Not enough power to keep momentum, and not enough traction to crawl. (and yes, pretty beefy snow tires..but....)
She did make it up a couple hours later after the snow warmed up.
But anyhow, Yesterday I chained her up and crawled her to where my brother had buried his F*rd in a snow drift. He done it good too... His '70 F250 with chains wouldn't budge, and another neighbors F*rd with chains couldn't pull it either.
So we chained the back of Dode to a tree, and hooked the winch to the F*rd, and out it came. Slicker 'n scum off a Luisiana swamp. Unfortunately I forgot the camera....
But alas, The old Dodge proved to be a useful vehicle...perhaps for the first time, but definitely not the last. I'll be leaving the chains on for the spring snow season... And I'm glad to know that the winch works so well...although a new longer cable is in order.
Cheerio!
