Jeff, For sure retighten the nuts.I just checked mine on my 230,and they were all loose! My book says that the nuts should be tightened to a torque(Ft-Lbs) of 15 to 20. This is for a 230 engine installed in a 1/2 ton WC. I had the same problem on my engine also. Just use two or more gaskets as needed.Hopes this helps.
