315 or 318 Which is better??

Kinda always wondered why Dodge went up only 3 cid when they replaced the 315. was the 318 soooo much better than a 318 (which they changed for 67' anyway)? Funny so much talk about the 315 lately. Most peolple I've talked to have heard of a 318 NOT a 315.
