Original 6 volt battery question

My truck is currently in the process of restoration with Distinctive Restoration. It is a 1951 and I'm trying to keep all details as correct as possible. My question is did the truck come with a Group 1 or Group 2 size battery? I've looked for hours and cannot find anything definitive. Would hate to spend a pile of money and not be correct. If they were both available what are pros/ cons of each? Sorry for a seemingly ridiculous question but it's important to me, thanks in advance for any factual responses!
