1948 Dodge Power Wagon [TX] $62,500
This 1948 Dodge Power Wagon with rear PTO spent the first 78 plus years on and about a large ranch near Wyoming never really left that area. Zero rust ever. The truck had a flatbed installed in the early 1950s and the original pickup box was stored in a barn. Three generations of the family learned to drive in this truck. The grandkids sold the truck to a local road builder who had the truck refurbished around 2005, reinstalled the original bed with no body filler, and it remained in his collection until he passed away last year. I know some additional history and have some older photos.
The truck has the rare rear PTO with dual PTO and front Braden winch. It's the only truck I've ever seen with the original mechanical governor lever mounted under the dash. Additionally, its heavily optioned, having the deluxe cab with armrest, heater and defroster, factory dome light and dual wipers. The truck also has the rear shock option, factory overloads, and a chrome windshield frame. The original license plate bracket and arm are still in place. The truck also had a mechanical governor, the extra water pump pulley is still in place with the rear PTO shaft and cab lever. Original keys.
Everything is in working condition, horn and original gauges minus the fuel gauge (it will need a new sender). The truck has a working heater with defroster and a working original interior light with a new headliner and completely refurbished original seat. The speedometer needle delaminated a month ago while on a drive. The turn signals were added at some point and I added a uber cool restored Signal Stat Burn-Out Proof Model 700 turn signal. The wipers were upgraded to electric. The front windshield regulator turns (opens) like it's new. All tires are new including the spare. The driver's door does not open from the interior but I never drive it with the window up.
The truck was run occasionally while in the collection but the fuel tank had been removed and the truck was not running when purchased. Earlier this year, a reproduction fuel tank was installed as well as an auxiliary 6 volt fuel pump and tuneup was performed. The truck starts immediately whether its 90 or 28 degrees. It idles quietly and runs perfectly. The truck has typical seeps from the drivetrain but drives out 100%.
This is not an over-restored powder-coated restoration with a bunch of reproduction parts. The truck is a real driver and remains a very straight & rust free truck with a beautiful interior.
Happy to send more photos and/or videos of her running/driving/startup, the Signal Stat indicator operation or whatever is needed.
