My doors DO all have the door check rubbers riveted in place, and boy were the rivets hard to see. They are SO much smaller than they look in the image you provided Vaughn. Each one of mine has two rivets - on upper and one lower.

I have never had a cab completely apart, and apparently I have never had a kick panel off and stuck my head back in there far enough to see the backside of the A-pillar.

When I made the repair from the strap having been nearly torn out of the A-pillar, I did it all from the door side using various punches and drifts through the slot to coax the metal back into place. I never noticed the check rubbers.

It is ALWAYS good to learn something new. Thanks guys!
