Tim, I have one of each - both identical, but one is 8-inch and one is 11-inch.

I will be visiting with a collector next week who I know has an original. I hope to find out a definitive answer as to what length is the correct length.

My initial thought is that the 8-inch is correct as the 11-inch is probably too long to get into the tight spaces where one may find they need and adjustable wrench.
