Mary. You should have no problems running 12 in a 6 volt wiring harness the 6 volt wires will be larger in diameter as the carried a higher amperage than 12 volt wires. Volts times amps is watts. So if you double the volts you have 1/2 the amps. So if your running 55 watt head lights in a 6 volt truck you need wiring that can handle twice the amps than running them in a 12 volt truck.
