Jonas, I manage a shipyard here in Vancouver & yes...if you do much welding you really need a respirator. Mig welding isn't as bad as burning the chemicals in the flux coated rods.... flux core wire in your Mig however is just as bad. The best welding respirators are very thin & they have hoses that go over your shoulder & draw air through special filters from behind you. They're expensive, but if you want I have an extra that you can have. Judging by them wedding pics, your too young to die of lung cancer! Let me know if you need it.
