I`ve heard is a bad idea to pour ATF down carb while engine is running.If it wasn`t smoking before it probablly will start.No expert, but have heard from several people through the years not too.ATF does work good on other as you mentioned. My 59 W300M has a 315 shoe horned into it. Sat for approx. 20 Yrs. Soaked cylinders with ATF and Marvel oil for 3 months,was stuck, now is a runner.Pull plugs out when freeing up engine.
