No modifications are necessary to install a LocRite. But you do have to install it in your carrier. The pins that were referred to are the pins that lock the carrier so that it can not come unscrewed. It takes a couple of hours to install the LocRite in the carrier along with some heat and a long cheater bar to open and close the carrier.
