Considering the hard work these fine old trucks have done, it's very likely the frames are bent or are out of alignment. I have the frame alignment measurements in the Journal Technical Support Section.

Take enough measurements to be sure the front hangers for the rear springs are square with the rear hangers of the front springs.

Use those spring hangers as "hard" points to measure the distance to the center of the respective axles on both sides. It is possible that the axles are not mounted correctly. Many springs have had leaves replaced without having the center bolt replaced, or replaced correctly. Also, entire spring assemblies have been replaced with incorrect spring assemblies. In fact, a quick check of the axle mounting dimensions might be the recommended first check.

If your frame needs alignment, it is a job for a professional shop - but it is not highly technical and should not be at the upper end of the price schedule. Remember, only the frame is being trued. Typical frame straightening these days involves aligning body sections. A Power Wagon frame is Frame Straightening 101 at the local vocational school.
