it depends on your final goal...personally i have owned stock m37s and ones converted to 12v as well as two that had slant sixes transplanted...If you want to show the truck as it was made or do military shows, keep it 24v as original radio gear was 24v so you can equip it with original radios and they will work, also other handy 24v accessories like an impact gun made for use changing tires, etc is quite handy plus mili9tary spot lights, etc. if you are looking for a highway driver or work truck...sell it and get a sweptline pw...i still have my 52 m37 that all stock except for the tires and a lock-rite in the rear axle, it drives great around town, has been off roading at places like Moab and here in Idaho, it is very dependable, so why change it? My other current m37 is a hard working original that was converted to 12v years ago by Hafers truck parts in Salt Lake, it has an 8ft meyers plow and keeps my driveway cleared. I recently replaced the starter with a six volt and even on the coldest days...many below zero it cranks right up! All of the dozens of Dodge trucks I have had the last 50+ years have all been stock as far as drive train, they have served me well, the choice is up to you....24v bulbs are easy to obtain from industrial supply houses, and all lamps are available. If you do a little surplus hunting you will find it pretty easy to find 24v electrical items too at affordable prices...these trucks were built to last....so a wiring harness replacement every 50 years or so is not a big deal! tell that to the computer systems in todays vehicles!
