Unscrew the plug and look. Most likely it will have old oil. A 14oz. or so tube should do it.
Corn head grease is one of the lubes that can be used, 90 S.A.E., 140 S.A.E, even 600 S.A.E. can be used. I use straight STP and it all depends on the steering gear oil seal. If you have the old cork seal, chances are it's going to leak any fluid you use, and that is the main reason guys use the corn head grease.
