My wife and I lived in Cambria from 1968-1971. One year we got 25 inches of rain in 2 weeks. A friend had an early Jeep pickup like that. His road had a small creek that ran over it at one place, usually no more than 6". This time it had more like 2' of water. He figured the Jeep would do it so he tried crossing. The engine stalled and the poor guy opened the door to get out. the water rushed into the cab and rolled the truck over and he drowned inside.
