The dodge engine is longer so you have to extend out the radiator using the extension/radiator for the 251, switch the lower radiator outlet to the opposite side or shorten the water pump shaft/housing of a pump for the right side to get you the room for a fan, or you have to use radiator electric fan. The Muncie SM420 is syncro 2-4th and has the lowest 1st gear of the 4 speed truck transmissions. Parts are vary easy and cheap to get due to its popularity. It just comes down to less modification of parts and being able to use direct replacement parts. Either engine is good to use, but the Chevy is less work and we use chevy axles, disk brakes why not the engine. Thanks Mike!
