As part of my conversion, I had a rough steering shaft turn indicating a bad bearing, so I disassembled it. The top cup closest to the steering wheel was bad, and my seal also leaked. So, I found a modern seal slightly larger than the housing bore and took to a machinist for service. In the image you'll see where the machinist puddles the cup to shrink it but was still a little difficult to get out. You can't get a puller behind the cup to pull it the way the housing is designed, yet after he shrunk it, he managed to get it out with a puller. I also had him bore the steering housing to except a modern seal so now I shouldn't have any leakage out around the steering gear shaft. You can get seals the same size as the housing, but not effective in controlling oil. Cost was $90 bucks.
