xml or xzl tires i wouldnt sipe them either, they had plenty of edges to do good on ice plusbeing radial they are more flexible than bias tires, however, i run 900 16 swiss ndts on scruffy my m37 plow truck, they are designed from factory with the basic ndt tread with lots of siping and a center tread relief that allows mud and snow more edge surface to grip yet they are totally non directional, i would never run us ndts on anything again! i have never chained up scruffy even in the deepest snow or glazed ice, it has excellent traction even with 850 lbs of plow on front end! (i have a 1500 lb theatre motor generator in the bed for back weight though!
