Andy- I know your eyes are set on the oil level, but when was the last time you pulled the oil pressure spring and checked it for issues? I see you have a 251, but my 230's pressure can each be adjusted by how long/tight the spring is..

A 230 is NOT healthy with over pressure (my observances).
