I am familiar with this problem as I have a 251 engine in my 53 B4 PW. Firs off It can be done with minimal visual impact. I purchased an Israeli refurbished 251 from VPW some years ago. following their guidance I was able to use the original radiator, First I removed it had the top tank turned completely around and re soldered.and the inlet nozzle put in the center and the old hole patched. Then then the bottom outlet tube nozzle moved to the opposite side. This allowed more room between radiator and fan. The fan clears the bottom of the radiator with newer style water pump- original water pump would not fit. I still had a very slight lean to the radiator as to fit the top through the hole in the radiator shell.
Suggest calling Vintage Power wagons for more details.
