Unfortunately I was the culprit who used the rtv. The tank was boiled out by the radiator shop before this. After I found the silicon blobs, I drained and rinsed out the tank. I don’t remember with what. The blobs came when the sender mounting screws pushed the silicon into the tank. Probably less than 1 tank of gas before I discovered the blobs. A new carb is on since all this happened. The new carb will run for 1/2 hour plus then the bowl goes dry. Once the top is removed the float removed, the rubber tipped valve cleaned (and I could see no debris) and put back together, will run for extended minutes. I even ran it fir about 15 min at idle then increased to driving speed for another 15 min. I think the operation of the carb is fine, except the intermittent issue I am having.
