The photo is of my favorite weld cleaning tool.
Some of us ONLY learn from our mistakes. I wear the sneezy foam ear plugs and ear muffs, a face shield, and gloves, and sometimes a welding jacket. And latex gloves and a respirator when using acetone, or non-latex paint.
The other day, when I stopped and went to clean up, I noticed I had pulled a bicep. At least that is what I thought because my bicep hurt in a way that a pulled muscle hurts. No big, right. A day or two and done, right.
I got in the shower with my pulled muscle, which hurt like a son of a gun when I was taking off my sweatshirt and shirt. Ouch!! Whilst soaping up, I noticed a red spot, about 1 inch in diameter on my bicep. What the heck?! Upon closer inspection, there was a wire sticking up out of my bicep in the middle of the red spot. I pulled out a half inch of wire brush wire. No, not a half inch long, because it was about 3/4 inch long, but 1/2 inch came out of my bicep. And it was still kinked, the way those wires are kinked. I don't think there is any reasonable PPE for wires in your bicep, so I will just have to live with the risk.
What is your weirdest restoration injury?
