As I described in an earlier thread "FFPW Engine Health", I now have the head off and there are clear signs of leakage between cylinders. I would get coolant in the oil after sitting for days/weeks, i.e. I'd go to drain oil and clear coolant runs out first, not chocolate pudding. To determine whether there is a cracked block, I'm thinking of refilling the coolant until it fills the block, and then letting it sit and see if I get water in the oil pan. Do I need to put the head bolts back in so they can seal up the water jacket holes in order to do this? I don;t see an cracks in the head. Or is there a better, low-tech, backyard way to check for a crack? Thx
