Ten years ago I asked people to send me the VIN of their early WDX/B-*-PW type flat fender Power Wagon if it had any part of a rear tail shaft or a belt pulley. I also asked for the serial number stamped into the belt pulley and whether they knew for sure that the tail shaft and/or belt pulley was original to their truck, as opposed to added or acquired separately. That data was used to estimate the number of belt pulleys made and the frequency of their appearance on Power Wagons during the early years. See the November 1988 and July 1992 issues of the Power Wagon Advertiser for details.

I am asking again for all such information to learn how many more belt pulleys, if any, have been discovered since then and to see if my old conclusions has withstood the test of time. In 1992 I concluded that every 13th early PW came with a belt pulley. But only 14 belt pulleys had been discovered (or reported to me) as of 1992. They remain very rare today.

Please send to me at Agrijeep@qwest.net the following information for your flat fender PW if it has any part of a rear tail shaft or belt pulley:

1. Truck VIN or serial number (839***** or 885*****), and
2. Serial number from outer flange of belt pulley, and
3. What parts of the tail shaft remain on your truck.

Thank you. Survey results will be posted in a few (maybe 4) months and published in the PWA.
