Factory Flat Bed

My 66 WM300 has a flat bed. It was purchased new by a private electrical company and used to set power poles, with an A-frame on the rear with bed support jacks and an extra PTO winch in the bed.

How can I tell if this is a factory flat bed, or fabricated later? Was chassis-only an option in 66?
