I have had the steering wheel on my '49 jerk put of my hand when slowly crawling downhill and the truck encountered a rock or other uneven surface that was not that severe. So it seems that it is quite possible for the terrain to feed back through the steering system. How the force of such terrain compares to the force a person can put on the front tires while the truck is up on the air, I couldn't say. I could always jack the front of the truck up on the air when I get home and see.
