Not a big deal, just take your time, use a fresh zip disc, and take a couple breaks if you are concerned about it getting warm. I have seen them cut with a chop saw without coolant, but if I was doing them dry I would lean more towards an angle grinder and a zip disc.
There are a couple axle companies that sell "cut to length axles"
