PATIENCE! This FFPW is teaching us patience. Although it spent its time in CO and NM, the rust isn't bad- however, the sand is terrible. We are thankful to have solid parts like the windshield and doors- no rust through! However, the nuts on this Dodge are breaking off left and right, even with ample amounts of PB Blaster. I did not have to worry with any of that on our WC52. Starter should be rebuilt today and ready for pick up. Bought a new 6v Duracell battery from BatteriesPlus, and the plugs/wires/plug holes have been prepped. I would really love to fire this thing up today!
The transmission was rust free, no condensation, and the gears looked as if someone could use some training in double-clutching. The odd fact was that the transmission case is bone dry. I've never seen a case that was empty AND with rust-free components.
Still need a complete bed, wiper motor covers, a fender support brace, driver side running boards, bench seat, and glove box lid.
