This is only my opinion, but the only engine switch that makes sense in a PW is the Cummins 4BT. This engine will perform perfectly well under the existing parameters of a Power Wagon. I hope I never am faced with the need to rebuild my 230, but if I were, I would like to use a 4BT.
I like the speed at which a PW likes and was designed to travel. If I want to go fast, I drive my '06 Dodge with a 6BT Cummins.
And, my source of funds these days has a large bearing on my aspirations.
