My floor pan is mostly gone, and there are no clinch nuts remaining. Why do you think they used they clinch nuts instead of lock washers and regular nuts? For ease of manufacturing, or and engineering and forces purpose? I have never installed clinch nuts, and online instructions say to use a profiled punch and press. Is there any way to install them without any special tools and a press? If they were installed purely for speed of floor installing, maybe lock nuts or lock washers with regular nuts can be used. Any opinions?
