Hi guys. I’ve been working on my fuel pump. I bought a rebuild kit from now and then auto and watched the rebuild video on YouTube. I thought I followed along correctly but I am having issues. Everything seems to function like it should, the action of the upper arm is moving up and down, the priming Lever moves etc.
However, when I put it all together and Mount it on the truck I can only get about 2 or 3 pumps and then it won’t pump anymore due to excessive pressure built up at the needle of the carb and the pump doesn’t pump fuel at all. I’m sure this has happened to someone else? Where might I have gone wrong? I also did the test on the vacuum side to blow air in the in and suck air and not be able to push air back in and that checked out. I also preloaded the arm when tightening down the screws on the vacuum side as the video suggested.
