yes, the earlier np-201 from 58 up through 1968 and timken cases same years w-00 through w300 had the 10 bolt pto outlet and canadian models, 68-71 and newer through erly 1970s had the np-205 that had a six hole pto outlet, the nice advantage to having the pto on the tcase is being able to have speed and direction control by the transmission so an unloaded winch line can be spooled up in fourth gear saving time or under heavy load first gear gives max torque, and unspooling is using reverse gear, in all cases the tcase hi-lo shift is placed in center or netral position, both types of ptos are engaged by a morse cable control either mounted on dash or on floorboard by drivers feet depending on the center installing the pto, unlike the two direction pto on the trans that was lever controlled because the earlier t cases had no provision for pto, its feasable if needed to have three ptos on one truck, two on the np420 and one on the tcase, some w500 2tons had this feature also thus you had a portable power unit! our fleet of 69-71 w300s with holmes wreckers all had pto on tcase and our trucks with additional front winches had the pto on the trans for that winch making the trucks very versitile! plus, wrecker speed was very flexible deponding on need!
