It has a 318 poly in it now. I have been taking my measurements off a 361 industrial out of a '69 D800 with a np541. From the front of the fan to the shifter, it is 4 inches longer than the 318 with np540. One problem is I have the sae bellhousing, which is quite large, and about 2 inches deeper than the poly bell. I think it is a 14 inch clutch. The w500 frame curves inward above the axle. Don't know if the d500 frames are different. Did your town wagon have a manual transmission?
