Well it’s licensed for a GVW of 32k lbs. but even 10k…the people I’ve talked to that advertise their electric trucks are going to be able to tow that say that although their trucks are capable of nearing 400 miles on a charge…they get less than half that when towing to capacity…no good. I tow over a mountain & there’s no place to charge for 300 miles. So on top of that my trailer is almost 10k lbs empty.
So the only talk whatsoever I’ve heard is a truck coming down the pipe made by Atlis. They claim to have a truck coming that will have a tow capacity of 19k lbs. So if purchasing the fanciest model, they say it will have a range of 500 miles for about $150k. Towing? Oh…sorry…only 250k. No good.
Also…that truck was supposed to be available by 2020…nothing…then 2021…nothing. Still nothing.
It’s just too early.
They need to let electric vehicles follow the natural course. They don’t need to push them…they’ll sell themselves as fuel becomes more expensive.
There’s no affordable electric vehicles available yet & so it’s just not an option for 75% of drivers. One day it will be but they’re just not there yet nor will they be in 2030.
