The disk includes metals such as copper, bronze, iron, and carbon. If a vehicle sits for long periods in humid climate, the disk will rust to the flywheel. The method I use is to start the vehicle in gear, get it moving good, engine rpm up, press in the clutch, and hit the brakes hard.
As a kid growing up, we had a 1924 Cletrac that the clutch would rust to the flywheel. We started it by crank, pushed in the clutch, jamed into gear to free it. Never broke anything.
