PTO question

Hey guys I learned something reading posts yesterday that I had no clue about and of course it caused me more questions.
I just bought a PTO from a fellow on the site and its an original FFPW PTO but it has two outputs a front and a rear, very neat YES! The PTO has a tag with a number and a casting number on it is there any way to look up these numbers and be able to tell if this PTO will fit on my truck? Or is it a try to mount it and see if the gears mesh properly and then be able to tell if it will work or not? I didnt ever know there were more than one PTO type for these trucks, as far a fit and gear depth. Thoughts?
