Yes, it certainly is a nice looking truck. It appears to have the same tie-rod as my 1970 W 300 has. To view it, scroll down through the info to the last picture just before the photo gallery. Note the location of the tie-rod offset. When the front wheels are straight this offset is located about midway between the differential and the driver's front wheel. This area, to my way of thinking, should be left unobstructed to provide more space while straddling a stone or stump for off road use. This same offset in my 1947 WDX tie-rod is positioned way over closer to the differential, so that the straight section is only 1/2 or 3/4" below the front axle to provide more ground clearance. With the wheels on the W 300 turned all the way to the left, this of course pushes the tie-rod towards the passenger side. In this position, the bottom of the tie-rod offset is still 12 to 13" from making contact with the differential. Why would they do this ? Or am I missing something here? JJB.
