Oil gauge fitting specs

Does anyone of the specifics of the thread size on the back of the oil gauge .
It has been noted in the archives that a standard automotive thread will not fit this gauge. I have hand threaded an automotive threaded fitting into the back and it surely is not the correct one. Any suggestions?

I would also like to take a second to recognize the guys over at the Vics dodge garage in Oregon. They recently restored my gauges in lightning speed and great quality. I would highly recommend them for all your Gauge restoration needs.
