Hi Jerry, I think the boys have you on the right track. My guess is the slave cylinder. Like a brake cylinder, it’s fairly common for them to be badly corroded & yet the force of the fluid can push the piston however the springs on the pressure plate just aren’t strong enough to overcome the rusty slave cylinder. That’s where I’d put my money. In fact I wouldn’t even go under there until I had a new slave cylinder in my hand. They’re only about $40. Dang…I’d come put that sucker in for you if I was a little closer!
