With the prices you were quoted I too would look at alternatives.
A spring shop should be able to re-arch both your your springs to factory specs for a lot less $. But also have them ADD a leaf to help “hold” them at that arch.
Also that extra leaf should not be pricey.
The shop back here in MD I use said that due to the age of the steel, a re-arch does not last long without adding a leaf. My experience with this process and approach lasted 10 years before I needed to consider new springs.
