This one is the low compression head-gasket #1326318 which is thicker than the later gaskets. It's copper on both sides and the one you may want to use to be on the safe side. The top of the combustion chamber is approximately 3/16" to 1/4" thick, so the shaving has taken off approximately 1/64".

To be sure you have enough clearance, rotate the engine till a valve is at the top of a cam lobe, completely open, measure distance to the engine block surface, and compare that to the top of the head combustion valve area with old gasket to consider compression of the gasket. As a minimum, you probably want 3/32 clearance for carbon buildup on the valve.

The old head can be repaired either by welding or soft plugs.
