Question about the virus

I'm not a computer wiz but I was wondering about something. If you have the RE virus and it sends the emails out by itself, does it show up on the email sent and received box. Again, I don't know if all systems have this but my system tells me how many messages I have sent and gotten when I connect. Was just wondering if this was a way to tell if you have it or if it works in some other way. Thanks,Kevin
