I've just finished dismantling 10 wide lock ring rims using my backhoe, just sneak the teeth between bead and rim and gently push down, do about 8 or 10 steps around the rim, maybe 2 turns for the really old rusty ones, slop lots of lube in there (some guys say use diesel fuel) and you're there! No rim damage, no tire damage except on the old rotten ones, and no chance at hurting yourself with a misdirected swing of a big hammer. Took me about 20 minutes average start to finish. My hoe is open, so I can operate it from the ground, no climbing in and out for every step. Rob
